Pesqueiro-Alto

Located on the south coast of the island of São Jorge, between Terreiro and Urzelina, this dive is accessible to all levels, although a visit to the deepest part of the site (35 metres) is reserved for the more experienced.

The site features several sizeable caves, as well as a geographically interesting seafloor covered with lava flow and pebbles.

In the caves you will have the opportunity to see some resident dusky groupers (Epinephelus marginatus), as well as many of the common species of the Azores sea. This includes several varieties of moray eels, schools of salema porgies (Sarpa salpa), colourful ornate wrasses (Thalassoma pavo), blacktail combers (Serranus atricauda) and parrotfish (Sparisoma cretense).
